Evans-Graves is seeking a talented, detail oriented, transportation engineer with 5-10 years of experience to join the transportation department in our Baton Rouge office. What You’ll Be Doing As A Member Of The Evans-Graves Team
The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of projects including:
- Design of transportation elements for capacity improvements, corridor improvements, and safety improvements including horizontal and vertical alignments, roadway drainage, earthwork, striping/signage, and construction sequencing
- Incorporating knowledge of Federal, State, and Local design codes and manuals
- Working in a team environment on multiple projects
- Attending public meetings, giving presentations, and other professional client interactions
- Preparing engineering reports (Drainage Impact Studies, Preliminary Engineering Reports)
- Design / production of construction plans and permitting
- Preparing preliminary and final quantity take-offs and cost estimates
- Private and Public Bid / Award activities
- Construction Phase activities including contract preparation, RFI reviews, submittal reviews, and conflict resolution
- Project Closeout activities
What You’ll Need To Have
- B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year university
- Professional Engineer licensure in Louisiana or ability to obtain
- 5 – 10 years of experience in transportation related projects
- CAD based civil design software experience necessary (AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation)
- Windows 10 / Microsoft Office experience including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
- HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, PondPack, LADOTD HYDR, EPA SWMM software knowledge is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to be a brand ambassador for the company and positively represent Evans-Graves in all interactions with both clients and members of the public
- Self-motivation and personal accountability
- Ability to travel locally and attend evening meetings with clients, as necessary
- Ability to multi-task across concurrent projects in a congenial team environment
