Evans-Graves is seeking a talented, detail oriented, transportation engineer with 5-10 years of experience to join the transportation department in our Baton Rouge office. What You’ll Be Doing As A Member Of The Evans-Graves Team

The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of projects including:

  • Design of transportation elements for capacity improvements, corridor improvements, and safety improvements including horizontal and vertical alignments, roadway drainage, earthwork, striping/signage, and construction sequencing
  • Incorporating knowledge of Federal, State, and Local design codes and manuals
  • Working in a team environment on multiple projects
  • Attending public meetings, giving presentations, and other professional client interactions
  • Preparing engineering reports (Drainage Impact Studies, Preliminary Engineering Reports)
  • Design / production of construction plans and permitting
  • Preparing preliminary and final quantity take-offs and cost estimates
  • Private and Public Bid / Award activities
  • Construction Phase activities including contract preparation, RFI reviews, submittal reviews, and conflict resolution
  • Project Closeout activities
What You’ll Need To Have
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year university
  • Professional Engineer licensure in Louisiana or ability to obtain
  • 5 – 10 years of experience in transportation related projects
  • CAD based civil design software experience necessary (AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation)
  • Windows 10 / Microsoft Office experience including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
  • HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, PondPack, LADOTD HYDR, EPA SWMM software knowledge is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to be a brand ambassador for the company and positively represent Evans-Graves in all interactions with both clients and members of the public
  • Self-motivation and personal accountability
  • Ability to travel locally and attend evening meetings with clients, as necessary
  • Ability to multi-task across concurrent projects in a congenial team environment
