Evans-Graves Engineers, Inc., a locally owned firm, is currently seeking a highly talented, detail oriented, Bridge Design Engineer with 5 – 10 years of experience to join the transportation department in our Baton Rouge, LA office. The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of projects for mostly public clients. The candidate should have experience in the following:
- Working in a team environment on multiple projects
- Public meetings process and presentations and professional client interactions
- Preparing preliminary and final quantity take-offs and cost estimates
- Private and Public Bid/Award activities
- Construction Phase activities including contract preparation, RFI reviews, submittal reviews, and conflict resolution
- Project Closeout activities
Position Requirements
- Licensed PE in Louisiana with 5 – 10 years of bridge design experience
- Familiarity with Louisiana DOTD design and detailing procedures
- Experience using Bentley Bridge Design software
- Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
Other Desirable Skills
- Experience with Microstation drafting software
- Bridge Rating experience using AASHTOware Bridge Rating software and knowledge of Louisiana DOTD Rating requirements
Position Background
- Position reports to Chief Transportation Engineer
- Ability to travel locally and attend evening meetings, as necessary
